Nescafé Gold, the premium instant coffee artfully crafted with the finest coffee beans, recently launched its 2022 winter campaign #CraftedBeyondCompare.

Four creatives, four senses

Celebrating the best of SA originality and inspirational creativity, Nescafé Gold enlisted four local creatives. They have each crafted pieces and sensorial experiences that celebrate one of the four senses; taste, touch, sight and smell. Of course, Nescafé Gold served as inspiration for their custom-designed prizes for the winter campaign.

Up for grabs, among other smaller prizes, are the following:

  1. Bespoke jewellery creations by Nungu Diamonds
  2. Limited-edition sunglasses by fashion designer David Tlale
  3. Limited-edition Lumiére hampers by designer Casey Jeanne
  4. Fine-dining experiences crafted by chef extraordinaire Luke Dale-Roberts

NESCAFÉ GOLD’s ‘Crafted Beyond Compare’ winter campaign, now in its fourth year, is a celebration of these proudly South African creatives who are masters of their craft. As a premium quality coffee artfully crafted with coffee beans, we respect the craftsmanship of local talent that goes into making premium quality products much like our coffee beans which are carefully golden roasted to give the rich, smooth, and rounded taste.

Nescafé Gold & Nungu Diamonds

Firstly, Nungu Diamonds, owned and run by married couple Kealeboga and Ursula Pule, have designed a unisex necklace, earrings, bracelet and ring exclusively for the campaign.

Ursula Pule explained that the inspiration for the campaign came from the silk-like finish of the Nescafé Gold branding.

“For the sense of touch, the jewellery is designed such that it is gender-neutral. A combination of white and cognac diamonds is used to represent the natural colours of the coffee bean, and oval-shaped diamonds imitate the silhouette of the coffee bean. We have selected the best diamonds to handcraft the necklace, earrings, unisex bracelet, and ring for exclusive campaign prizes. Our jewellery is manufactured in 18K yellow gold as is the rich gold colour used on the branding”.

Secondly, for the sense of sight, fashion designer David Tlale has used the golden crema sitting on the silky-smooth blend of his cup of coffee as inspiration for his design of a bespoke set of glorious sunglasses as part of the list of deluxe unique prizes some lucky Nescafé Gold coffee lovers will own.

David Tlale is famed for his bold and elaborate designs. His collections have featured at New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week and Cape Town Fashion Week.

Nescafé Gold & Lumiére

Thirdly, borrowing from the joy of taking in the wafting rich aroma of Nescafé Gold, Durban-based designer Casey Jeanne handmade and crafted four limited-edition Lumiére bespoke candle hampers that celebrate the sense of smell.

The unique scent “Café de Espresso” will transport you to that moment before you take your first indulgent sip.

From the beautiful coloured frosted glass vessels to the carefully detailed gold-foiled packaging, every element obviously reflects the care and luxury which makes these candles the ultimate deluxe gift of the senses.

Nescafé Gold & Test Kitchen Carbon

Still continuing the sensorial journey but finally honouring the sense of taste, international award-winning chef, Luke Dale-Roberts has curated an enthralling and memorable fine dining experience for lucky winners at the newly opened Test Kitchen Carbon in Johannesburg.
