The Good Life Show: Are you a Flexitarian?… or a Conscious Consumer?

With the number of flexitarians continuing to rise, it is no surprise that The Good Life Show couldn’t be better timed. In fact, a growing number of people are choosing to primarily follow a plant-based diet with the occasional inclusion of animal products, often referred to as ‘casual vegetarianism’; the show is sure to provide valuable information and inspiration for those on this health-conscious journey.

A recent ProVeg Front Page International study shows that, in South Africa, flexitarianism has grown by 6% to 10% in the last year alone. This rise is mainly due to consumers becoming more aware of the health benefits associated with reducing their animal product consumption, awareness and concern around animal welfare generally, as well as current economic challenges which are influencing people to actively look for cheaper protein alternatives such as lentils, beans, and chickpeas. Meat-free meals are also often quicker and simpler to prepare, which offers obvious advantages during the current cost of living crisis. Some additional motivators to this lifestyle change are health, variety, price, and a desire to simply eat a more natural, unprocessed diet.

Embrace Conscious Living

While also fueled by the growing movement towards conscious and responsible living, consumers are increasingly clamouring for household, hygiene, and clothing items that boast ethical sourcing, cruelty-free practices, and environmental sustainability. Because they are recognizing this insatiable demand, The Good Life Show steps in to empower visitors with the information and inspiration they need to make informed choices about their purchases.

Along with plant-based food and drink items available, organic, ethical, and sustainable food and household products will also be on show and for sale. All the producers will be able to answer any questions about their products, their origins, and benefits.
