Montblanc’s signature Meisterstück Collection embodies timeless luxury among the Maison’s leather goods collections, with its brilliant leather and elevated design cues inspired by the art of writing. Not only does the collection continue to reinterpret itself in response to evolving ways of working and lifestyles, but it also meets both functional and aesthetic needs through the addition of modern shapes, bold finishes, and colours that anchor themselves in the culture of writing. As we celebrate the iconic Meisterstück on the eve of its 100-year anniversary, the collection has certainly never been more vibrant or exciting.

Alongside classic black, the latest Meisterstück assortment features a new ink blue colour, a vibrant tone that pays homage to the liquid fuel that powers the writing experience. Artistic Director Marco Tomasetta introduced a captivating sfumato effect to a selection of Meisterstück leather pieces, inspired by an ink-stained heritage glass bottle found in the Montblanc archives.

Crafting Uniqueness

The artisan applies the sfumato effect by airbrushing the finished leather at the end of the production process, creating a unique piece that testifies to the craftsmanship nurtured over time. The bag is available in a warm burgundy colour and a modern forged iron colour. The sfumato effect softly transitions from darker colours at the bottom of the bag to lighter tones at the top, evoking the process of ink slowly diffusing into paper.

The extended assortment reimagines timeless hero shapes while introducing new designs that play with large and small volumes – all presented in the Meisterstück collection’s signature smooth leather with a brilliant finish.

New styles in black include

• A medium-sized Tote – a smaller, vertical alternative to the existing Meisterstück Tote
• A Mini Document Case – a playful variation of the collection’s best-selling Document Case

Meanwhile, the new ink blue, burgundy sfumato, and forged iron sfumato colours enhance the following designs:

• A Neo Briefcase – a novel take on a traditional satchel with a sleek metal closure
• A Document Case – a functional yet elegant companion for work
• A Montblanc 149 Bag – the largest of the Maison’s hero products that has been bestowed a new name inspired by Montblanc’s biggest fountain pen.
• A Messenger – a contemporary version of a classic bag shape
• A Portfolio – an easy-to-carry piece that transitions from work to play
• An assortment of small leather goods, including wallets, compact wallets and cardholders

Meisterstück Collection Ink-Inspired Elegance

The Meisterstück leather collection borrows recognizable design details from the iconic writing instrument of the same name. Moreover, the leather detailing of the bag incorporates the shape of the Meisterstück nib, including the attachment points for handles or straps and the corner detailing with leather pieces. The Meisterstück leather collection now features distinctive nib-shaped zip pulls as a result of recent additions. This addition not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the bag but also reinforces the collection’s connection to the iconic writing instrument.

Montblanc also presents the Montblanc emblem in two different-sized interpretations on bags that are inspired by the Maison’s Heritage writing instrument collection, showcasing a symbol of Montblanc craftsmanship and quality. To preserve the elegance of the lines and shapes of each piece, organization and storage compartments are all hidden inside the bags while not compromising on the functionality of each piece.
