Cape Island Scent Workshop at Design Joburg
Design Joburg 2022 runs at the Sandton Convention Centre from 19 to 21 May. This year Cape Island will introduce a scent workshop that will give attendees an olfactory experience. This established female-owned South African brand manufactures eco-luxe home fragrance products inspired by Africa. The Cape Island brand has a passion for telling stories through its products in a way that obviously inspires people. Cape Island focuses on high-quality natural ingredients, micro-batch production and also re-usable packaging.
“We are excited to launch a scent workshop at Design Joburg,’ says Suzanne Snowdowne, Chief Executive Officer at Cape Island. “Guests will also take on an interactive, guided fragrance journey in an intimate and informal setting where they can unleash their creative energy, find their nose, and also learn the basic steps to crafting and composing their unique fragrance formula.”
Inspiration and Connection
Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with and be inspired by interior mavens and collaborators Nthabi Taukobongand Bilala Mabuza. The former is a founding member and the Managing Director of Ditau Interiors, an interior design consulting company. The latter is the founder and Creative Director of interior design studio Cocoon Lifestyle.
“We source fine fragrance oils from leading perfumers in Europe and then make our hand-poured scented candles, fragrance diffusers, sulphate free soaps and lotions in South Africa,” says Snowdowne. “We are excited to share our passion with fragrance lovers at Design Joburg and also enable them to create their own scent story.” Each item produced by Cape Island connects you to the natural landscape.
There will be two scent workshops per day. The cost of R180 per 90-minute session excludes entrance to Design Joburg. Bookings are essential. To purchase tickets for the workshop, go to the Cape Island website.
