Imibala Summer Gala 2025—An Evening of Elegance and Generosity

February 6 @ 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Imibala Summer Gala The Imibala Trust

The Imibala Trust is proud to announce its annual Summer Gala, a spectacular evening dedicated to empowering South Africa’s youth through education and the arts. This anticipated event will take place on Thursday, 6th February 2025, at Vergelegen Wine Estate.

Over the past two decades, the Imibala Trust has made a profound impact on children from impoverished backgrounds through initiatives that provide resources and access to transformative arts education. With a mission to nurture self-expression and critical thinking, Imibala continues to offer children opportunities that transcend their everyday realities.

Gaynor Rupert, Founder and Chairwoman of The Imibala Trust, notes that “when I opened the first Imibala space in Andries Pretorius Street, in 2002, I could not have imagined that what started as a way to create jobs for women in the Helderberg area, would grow into an organisation that today supports, educates and provides, for over 8,000 children every year,” and that “the growth of Imibala has been, in many ways, organic, and as the number of children has expanded, so too has our physical footprint.”

The Imibala village in Bright street now comprises eight buildings, including a state of the art ballet studio, library and coding room. Additionally, Imibala has a satellite village in Graaff-Reinet, and this year, thanks to funds raised in the 2024 Imibala Auction, new facilities are being offered in Hermanus and opening in Moorreesburg.

A One-of-a-Kind Panerai Luminor Marina: Created exclusively for the Imibala Trust, this exceptional timepiece is crafted from premium stainless steel and features a P.980 caliber movement with a 3-day power reserve. Jean-Marc Pontroué, CEO of Panerai, shared, “This unique creation celebrates innovation and purpose, supporting Imibala’s mission to provide quality education for Africa’s youth.”

Singita Experiences: A chance to immerse yourself in the unparalleled luxury of Singita’s award-winning lodges and safaris, offering memories that will last a lifetime.

Curated Art by Goodman Gallery: A collection of works from leading contemporary artists, showcasing the power of art to inspire change.

Adding to the evening’s allure, international music icon Ronan Keating will deliver an unforgettable live performance, ensuring a magical atmosphere for all attendees.

Proceeds from the event will continue to fund initiatives in areas of desperate need, where children have little to no access to further and creative education.

Gaynor Rupert, Founder and Chairwoman of Imibala Trust, shared her vision: “Our ambition has always been to enable children to explore their full potential and find a happy, safe space where they can envisage a future far beyond their current circumstances.”

A silent auction will run alongside the Imibala Summer Gala live auction, thereby allowing those unable to attend to bid on items and contribute from near or far; enabling as many as possible to make a difference in the lives of South Africa’s youth and all our futures.
